You’re sleeping every night but are you getting rest?
When we came home with our newborn daughter we were beyond tired, only to be awoken right when we fell asleep. This continued intermittingly for what seemed like forever. Nod off, cries, back up.
These past couple of weeks have me feeling like that same new parent, but it’s due to an ever-shifting foundation. The pandemic is the blender and the events at the Capitol are the ingredients no one asked for. And now we’re days away from the Inauguration, which finds so many of us half-way tucked beneath comforters, somewhat sleep, but mostly alert.
Let me tell you something, I can’t take your worry away, but I’ve found prayer and meditation to be beneficial lately. I’ve been using the Balance app and it has this five minute gratitude meditation I listen to every night as soon as I hit the bed. I need the rest and the sleep because my mental health depends on it.
And you, my friend, you need it too.
