How to Rest (Actually)

Not because you deserve it, but because it’s the minimum.

Meaning, your mind and body demand it.

Turn off the ticker tape of unsettling updates. Pick flowers instead.

Hear from someone who fills you. It could be an old letter. Or your dusty yearbook.

Bake cookies. I like to break and bake. Efficient and delicious enough.

Or maybe roll on back to sleep after you cancel your plans (with ease)

Be mindful of replacing work with more work. Invite yourself to the discomfort of pausing.
