If You’ve Convinced Yourself You’re a Bigger Mess Than Everyone Else

No one on this planet has it all together.

I used to believe people were out here living forever carefree. Just vibing. Riding the wave. All those other sayings. But, life just ain’t that.

I’ve peeked behind the curtain enough to know this much is true: everybody is dealing with something. That celebrity you love: yep. That pastor you follow: check. That person in your friend group who never stops winning: absolutely.

Even if when we’re at our best, things still fall apart. Life be life-ing.

So if you’re feeling pushed to the back of the crowd, like the odds were never in your favor, this is a call to come out of that dry place. You’re not a mess up. You’re not insignificant. You’re not forgotten. No one is better than you.

Most of all, you’re not alone. We’re all out here dealing with something.

Let these words help you move the needle. Especially if you’ve been stuck for a while, looking at the pieces, wondering which way to go. Take this moment to look up and around. The playing field has been leveled like never before.

The pandemic, a victor.

But, life just ain’t bleak.

You are well-positioned for a blessing, for the nudge you’ve been needing, for the progress that was interrupted. Carry hope with you through this season. Hold the good, the bad, and the ugly before you and declare, “You all don’t define me. My purpose does.”

Joy comes in the morning. Let’s get there.
