If You Feel Like God Has Forgotten About You

God has not forgotten about you.

If you’ve been overcome with doubt or feelings of abandonment, how you feel makes sense. There are a million valid reasons to feel that way.

At times, we only see a small part of the bigger plan. Sometimes, we hear nothing. I personally believe it’s fine to confide in God and say, “This is completely unfair, and I’m not okay with any of this.

A few years ago, I experienced a troubled period of time when I doubted that God even cared. How could he let something as bad as a major manic episode come over my life? Why am I waking up to my car almost being repossessed? Why am I unable to keep those I love safe?

Unanswered questions. Unresolved anger.

There was no overnight solution to this. I cursed and ran and wrestled, and yet, he had never left.

But, God

Eventually, I sought wise counsel from those who’ve endured life’s punches. Then, I referred to his promises. I saw myself in the story of Job – all the way through to Job’s life being restored.

Truth be told, I’m still learning and being tested. Faith takes a lifetime to perfect. I’m working on forgiveness. I’m trying to make all this less about me.

It’s a never-ending thing.

Let this be a reminder of his presence in your life. He’s there. A note that your better days are coming.  They are. And, an invitation to feel how you feel and be honest with where you’re at.

God can handle it.

He’s listening.
